Morning Momentum: You Don’t Have to Lead Alone

Written by The Bailey Group

On Wednesday, The Bailey Group and Lakeside HR brought together an impressive group of CEOs and small business owners for our latest Morning Momentum event – and the conversations in the room were exactly why we do this.

The theme we always hear – leading is hard and, at times, it can feel lonely.

Leaders make big decisions without always having all the information. They create clarity when things are uncertain. They carry a lot of pressure quietly while helping everyone around them stay steady. That is a heavy load – and most of the time, leaders carry it without ever saying so out loud.

The Cost of Every Decision

One insight that stood out: there are costs to deciding too fast, and costs to deciding too slow.

Move too fast and miss an important aspect of the decision.  Wait too long and the moment passes. Finding that balance is one of the hardest parts of leadership. Everyone in the room knew what that felt like.

That kind of shared understanding is hard to find.  Morning Momentum creates the opposite dynamic – a space where leaders get to be the ones asking questions, sitting with uncertainty, and thinking out loud without judgment.

What Made This Morning Different

What stood out most was not just the quality of the people in the room – it was their willingness to slow down.

Smart, accomplished leaders choosing to be vulnerable, reflective, and honest instead of pretending to have it all figured out. Choosing real conversation over polished answers.

Why This Work Matters

We are grateful to partner with Lakeside HR Group each quarter to create space for exactly these kinds of conversations. Because when leaders have a place to slow down, connect, and think alongside people who understand the realities of the role, everyone leaves a little stronger – and a little less alone.

The best leaders are not the ones who have everything figured out. The best leaders stay curious, stay connected, and never stop learning from the people around them.

If you are a CEO or business owner looking for a community like this, we would love to have you at our next Morning Momentum event August 12. Reach out to learn more about how to get involved.
