Tom Vanderheyden, MBA

Tom Vanderheyden is a former healthcare CEO and enterprise executive who has spent his career helping leaders and organizations navigate growth, transformation, and complexity. His experience includes serving as CEO of Harken Health, President of Diversified Business and EVP at Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Minnesota, and in multiple senior leadership roles domestically and internationally at UnitedHealth Group. He has also served in more than 30 board roles across regulated, commercial, and nonprofit organizations, giving him a practical understanding of leadership from both sides of the boardroom table.

A significant influence on Tom’s coaching is his work as a certified Senn Delaney culture facilitator. Selected to help lead culture transformation at UnitedHealth Group, he personally guided more than 1,000 leaders through the process. That experience reinforced his belief that sustainable organizational change begins with leaders examining their own mindsets, behaviors, and impact on others.

Tom works with CEOs, senior executives and leadership teams facing significant transitions, board dynamics, culture challenges, and organizational change. His coaching style is candid, thoughtful, and practical while balancing compassion with challenge.
